About Our Treatment
The Low Back Clinic uses the most advanced TRUE Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression technology on the market. Our treatments are so effective that we are able to target the problematic disc so directly that 80-90% of the treatment forces can be applied to the that disc directly. Thus, by having such precision, we are able to have your body adapt very quickly to care. Our treatments will gently start to distract your problematic disc(s) in such a manner that we are able to create a sustained negative pressure (i.e. a vacuum-like affect) within the disc whereby we are able to draw in water and nutrience into the disc from the surrounding tissue AND draw in any herniated disc material back into the disc.
That is to say, if you are suffering from a disc herniation, that vacuum-like effect is able to draw that herniated disc back into the center (proper position) thereby removing pressure off the nerve, thus removing the numbness and tingling in your legs/arms. If you suffering from degenerative disc disease, that same vacuum-like effect will bring in water and nutrience back into the disc, thus plumping up the disc to separate or spread apart the vertebrae so that they are no longer touching on one another AND removing the pressure off the nerves!
The Treatment Protocol (cont.)
Initially during treatments, exercising will not be prescribed. Having a disc herniation, spinal arthritis and/or degenerative disc disease, the vertebral joints will be structurally misaligned. As a result, the muscles will be "misaligned" as well. So if exercises are given at the beginning of care, it potentially place the vertebrae into further misalignment. However, by soley addressing the primary complaint initially (i.e. disc hern, ddd, etc.) rehabilitating the disc and having the joint articulate better (which in turn will make the muscles become more "aligned") then prescribing exercises will create a more beneficial effect. In addition, due to your level of pain, exercises may not be even able to be performed initially. Patients can be pain free within as little as 3 visits. Most patients, however, begin to feel better within 6-12 treatments and spinal stabilization occurs by the 20th treatment.
